Upgrade your construction and fastening projects with our USS Flat Washers made from low carbon steel and protected with a rugged hot dipped galvanized finish. These washers are specifically engineered for heavy-duty applications requiring superior corrosion resistance, load distribution, and longevity in harsh environments.
Hot Dipped Galvanized Coating:
A thick zinc coating is applied by dipping the washer in molten zinc, forming a bonded, corrosion-resistant surface ideal for outdoor, marine, and treated wood applications. Far more durable than standard zinc plating, this process delivers excellent rust resistance even in high-humidity or salt-exposed environments.
USS Pattern Dimensions (United States Standard):
Designed with a larger inside diameter compared to SAE washers. This allows a looser fit around bolts with coarse (UNC) threads, reducing stress concentrations and allowing easier alignment in structural applications.
Load Distribution & Surface Protection:
Helps evenly spread the clamping force of a bolt or screw, preventing marring or damage to soft materials such as wood or aluminum. Also reduces the risk of pull-through under heavy loads.
Material & Strength:
Constructed from low carbon steel offering sufficient tensile strength (~45,000 psi) for structural-grade applications such as deck framing, metal-to-wood connections, and utility pole hardware. These washers comply with ASME B18.22.1 standards and are suitable for pairing with ASTM A307 Grade A bolts or equivalent.
Versatile Applications:
Construction: Post and beam framing, concrete formwork, heavy timber fastening
Infrastructure: Guardrails, bridges, pipelines, utility hardware
Marine & Agricultural: Docks, fencing, equipment exposed to weather
DIY & Home Repair: Decks, pergolas, structural wood projects
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Meets or exceeds the dimensional and material standards for USS flat washers. Manufactured with tight tolerances for consistent fit and performance.
Material: Low Carbon Steel
Finish: Hot Dipped Galvanized (HDG)
Washer Type: Flat, USS Pattern
Standard: ASME B18.22.1
Hardness: Typically Rockwell B50–B85
Tensile Strength: ~45,000 psi (not intended for high-strength bolting applications like A325 or A490)
Corrosion Resistance: Excellent (rated for long-term exterior use)
If you're building with pressure-treated lumber, working in coastal environments, or handling large structural hardware, these washers provide the reliability and endurance you need. Compared to zinc-plated
